New Exhibition at City Archives Explores 150 Years of Sight Loss in Wolverhampton
The Beacon Centre for the Blind has partnered with Wolverhampton City Archives for a free exhibition running until 30 May 2026, examining visual impairment across 150 years of the city's history. Visitors can handle historical accessibility tools including Braille machines and adapted board games, and explore oral histories of community members including Dorothy Hadley, who dedicated her life to guide dog fundraising. The exhibition forms part of the Beacon Centre's lottery-funded Sight Loss Heritage Project, launched in its 150th anniversary year.
